Be cautious before you enter the street again after reading this!
The following are some weird laws from Massachusetts as well as the rest of the USA and the world. Read and be prepared to get confused! Things you thought were normal might not be after reading this!
Massachusetts Laws:
- In Salem, even married couples are forbidden from sleeping nude in the rented rooms.
- It is illegal to wear a goatee without a license.
- Dueling with water pistols is illegal.
- In Boston, it is illegal for someone to take a bath unless ordered by a physician.
- In 1659, Christmas was outlawed.
Texas State Law:
In Texas a recently passed anticrime law requires criminals to give their victims 24 hours notice, either orally or in writing, and to explain the nature of the crime to be committed.
New York City Law:
Citizens may not greet each other by "putting one's thumb to the nose and wiggling the fingers".
Ocean City Law
It is illegal to eat in the street in residential neighborhoods, and the only beverage you can drink on the beach is water in a clear plastic bottle.
New York State Law
It is against the law to throw a ball at someone's head for fun
New York State Law
A fine of $25 can be levied for flirting. This old law specifically prohibits men from turning around on any city street and looking "at a woman in that way." A second conviction for a crime of this magnitude calls for the violating male to be forced to wear a "pair of horse-blinders" wherever and whenever he goes outside for a stroll.
International Law, Australia:
Taxi cabs are required to carry a bale of hay in the trunk.
International Law, Denmark:
Attempting to escape, and escaping from prison is not illegal.
However, if you are caught, you're required to serve out the remainder of your term.
